Nb10Zr rod

The niobium-zirconium alloy 10 (Nb-10Zr) is an alloy in which niobium serves as the matrix with 10% zirconium added. Its density is approximately 7.8–8.1 g/cm3. It has a high melting point. The melting point of niobium is approximately 2,468 °C. After adding zirconium, the alloy’s melting point also falls within a higher temperature range, making it stable under high-temperature conditions. High thermal conductivity facilitates heat transfer, which offers advantages in certain applications requiring heat dissipation or heat exchange. Additionally, the alloy has good thermal fatigue strength and can withstand repeated thermal cycles without fatigue damage.

Corrosion Resistance: Zirconium can improve an alloy’s resistance to oxidation and alkali metal corrosion. It is stable in most acids and exhibits good acid resistance and corrosion resistance.<

Applications: It can be used in the manufacture of fuel cells and high-temperature heat exchangers. In addition, in the field of vacuum coatings, the Nb-10Zr alloy can be used as a coating material to form thin films with special properties on the surfaces of glass, solar cells, etc. Under high-temperature vacuum conditions, the metal forms ions that attach to the surface of the object, ensuring its corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity.
