Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo Properties

Ti6246 titanium alloy tube
Ti6246 titanium alloy ring

Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo (Ti-6246) is a high-strength, near-alpha titanium alloy featuring excellent high-temperature strength (500–550°C). Designed for highly loaded components in aero-engines and airframe structures, it combines high-temperature strength with superior creep resistance. Ti-6246 is distinguished by its outstanding fatigue resistance and high-temperature stability, offering a reliable solution for demanding applications.

Oxidation resistance: Oxidation rate <0.1 mg/cm2/h in air at 500°C, with the formation of a stable Al2O3+TiO2 composite oxide film on the surface. Applications in aero-engines include high-pressure compressor disks, blades (offering a 30% weight reduction compared to Inconel 718), and turbine shafts (subjected to high torsional loads).
