Ta-2.5%W, also known as tantalum alloy 63. The tungsten content is approximately 2–3%.
This alloy has good corrosion resistance and performs well at high temperatures.
Since the strength of a tantalum-tungsten alloy is higher than that of pure tantalum, and its corrosion resistance is comparable to that of pure tantalum, it is widely used in the chemical and aerospace industries. The Ta-2.5W alloy is primarily used in the manufacture of heaters, cooling coils, heat exchangers, and reactors.
