Ta-7.5W tantalum-tungsten alloy wire has a nominal composition of 92.5% tantalum and 7.5% tungsten. The addition of tungsten improves the material’s strength, hardness, and mechanical stability, while maintaining tantalum’s excellent corrosion resistance.
Ta-7.5W wire offers good corrosion resistance, strength, and elasticity, making it particularly suitable for the manufacture of springs and other elastic components operating in corrosive environments and under special conditions. Typical applications include springs for chemical equipment, chlorine valve control springs, vacuum regulator springs, valve springs, and other corrosion-resistant elastic components.
Ta-7.5W wire is available in various diameters, processing conditions, and forms of delivery in accordance with customer requirements and can be used to manufacture compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs, and other specialty springs. For specialized spring applications requiring both corrosion resistance and mechanical stability, Ta-7.5W is a typical tantalum-tungsten alloy.
