Nb521 rods are primarily used in aerospace, rocket propulsion, and high-temperature engineering. They serve as stock material for fabricating components such as rocket engine thrust chambers, nozzles, and other high-temperature structural parts, as well as for spacecraft propulsion systems, high-temperature fasteners, supports, and other components requiring high-temperature strength and lightweight characteristics.
Nb521 ingots are produced via vacuum electron beam melting or vacuum consumable arc melting and subsequently processed into rods through techniques such as hot extrusion, forging, drawing, and rolling. With a density of approximately 8.85 g/cm³—lower than that of many other high-temperature refractory metals—Nb521 offers a distinct advantage in terms of high-temperature specific strength for aerospace applications.
Thanks to its excellent high-temperature strength, high-temperature specific strength, good creep resistance, and favorable machinability and weldability, Nb521 rod is an ideal material for manufacturing components for rocket engines, spacecraft propulsion systems, and other high-temperature structural assemblies. Typical applications include thrust chamber and nozzle components, parts for attitude and orbit control engines, high-temperature supports, connectors, and other machined parts requiring high-temperature strength and low weight.
