Nb 521 sheet metal can be manufactured using hot and cold rolling, forging, and heat treatment, and can be supplied in various thicknesses, widths, lengths, surface finishes, and heat-treated conditions according to customer requirements. Its excellent formability makes it suitable for the manufacture of thin-walled and complex high-temperature components.
Compared to standard niobium and some other niobium superalloys, Nb 521 offers higher high-temperature strength, good creep resistance, lower density, and good hot- and cold-working properties.
Nb 521 sheet metal is primarily used in the aerospace and high-temperature engineering sectors, including rocket engines, nozzles and nozzle extensions, spacecraft propulsion systems, attitude and orbital control engines, as well as other high-temperature structural components. Under high-temperature conditions, Nb 521 maintains good strength and microstructural stability, making it suitable for applications requiring high high-temperature strength and lightweight construction.
Finished high-temperature structural components can be manufactured using stamping, rolling, forming, welding, and machining.
This is one of the most important applications of Nb 521 sheet metal. The sheet metal can be used to manufacture: engine casings, high-temperature linings, and related structural components.rocket engine combustion chambers, combustion chambers, nozzles, nozzle extensions, and high-temperature components.
Nb 521 sheet metal can be used to manufacture: attitude control engine components, orbital control engine components, spacecraft engines, combustion chamber structures, nozzle extensions, and structural components of high-temperature propulsion systems.
This area is particularly important for pages dedicated to sheet metal products. Nb 521 plates can be further processed into: thin-walled components, high-temperature casings, high-temperature panels, structural supports, and complex-shaped components.
The high-temperature strength of the Nb 521 alloy makes it suitable for use in hot-section structures and power plant components of certain high-speed aircraft, such as: high-temperature engine components, tail nozzles, nozzle extensions, high-temperature load-bearing structures, and hot-section casings.
Nb 521 alloy plates are also currently used for: testing the high-temperature properties of materials, developing aerospace materials, studying high-temperature creep, conducting welding research, studying coatings, and developing new power systems.
