Tantalum-10% Tungsten is a high-temperature tantalum-tungsten alloy based on tantalum with approximately 10% tungsten added, conforming to the UNS R05255 standard. In the ASTM B365 standard, R05255 is specified as a tantalum alloy in bar form containing 90% tantalum and 10% tungsten.
Compared to pure tantalum, the addition of tungsten significantly improves the material’s mechanical strength and high-temperature properties, while maintaining tantalum’s excellent corrosion resistance. Therefore, Ta-10W is suitable for high-temperature, high-strength, vacuum, and corrosive environments.
Ta-10W bars have high tensile strength, yield strength, and high-temperature strength, making them suitable for use in the aerospace industry, liquid-fuel rocket engines, high-temperature vacuum furnaces, chemical equipment, high-temperature structural components, and specialized mechanical parts.
Ta-10W alloy rods are available upon request in a variety of diameters, lengths, surface roughnesses, and finishing conditions; rods in non-standard sizes can also be manufactured according to customer drawings.
