Beta 21S (Grade 21, UNS R58210) is a high-strength, heat-treatable, metastable β-type titanium alloy, typically alloyed according to the Ti-15Mo-3Al-2.7Nb-0.25Si composition. The ASTM B348/B348M standards include Grade 21 / UNS R58210 in their specifications for titanium bars and billets made from titanium alloys.
Beta 21S was specifically developed for high-performance applications in the aerospace industry, offering excellent cold formability and weldability, as well as providing superior resistance to oxidation and creep, and high-temperature stability compared to traditional β-type titanium alloys.
This alloy also exhibits good resistance to aerospace hydraulic fluids and can be used in aerospace structural components, fasteners, metal-matrix composites, and parts requiring high strength and high-temperature resistance.
