Beta 21S (Grade 21, UNS R58210) is a heat-treatable, metastable β-titanium alloy with a typical composition of Ti-15Mo-3Al-2.7Nb-0.25Si. This high-strength, oxidation-resistant titanium alloy was developed for the aerospace industry and offers good cold formability and weldability.
Compared to traditional α+β titanium alloys, Beta 21S offers higher strength, better creep resistance, and improved resistance to high-temperature oxidation. It also exhibits good resistance to aerospace hydraulic fluids, making it suitable for high-performance applications such as aerospace structural components, fasteners, and metal matrix composites.
Beta 21S is an age-hardenable, metastable β-titanium alloy. Through heat treatment, aging, and cold working, various combinations of strength and ductility can be achieved, making it suitable for components that require high strength, formability, and resistance to environmental exposure.
