Ti-45Nb (Grade 36), with a nominal composition of approximately 55% Ti and 45% Nb, which corresponds to ASTM Grade 36 and UNS R58450.
This material belongs to the β-type titanium alloy family, which features a low modulus of elasticity, good ductility and formability, as well as excellent corrosion resistance.
Compared to high-strength titanium alloys, such as the traditional Ti-6Al-4V, the outstanding feature of Ti-45Nb is not its pursuit of the highest strength, but rather its low modulus of elasticity, good ductility, and the unique physical and biomedical properties of titanium-niobium alloys.
Ti-45Nb plates can be manufactured using vacuum melting, hot rolling, cold rolling, and annealing processes, and can be produced in various thicknesses, widths, lengths, and surface conditions according to customer specifications.
ASTM B265 includes Grade 36 in the standard for strips, sheets, and plates made of titanium and titanium alloys, and specifies that it is a titanium alloy containing approximately 45% Nb.
Suitable for medical and biomedical applications: orthopedic implants, dental implants, and biomedical components.
Aerospace applications: lightweight components, specialty structural components, aerospace research, high-performance components
Scientific Research: materials research, titanium alloy research, biomedical materials research, low-modulus alloy research.
Suitable for applications requiring: low modulus of elasticity, good corrosion resistance, high ductility, and the special properties of titanium alloys.
