C-103 niobium bars can be manufactured using vacuum melting, forging, hot working, heat treatment, and precision machining. They are available as round bars, rods, and custom-made parts manufactured to customer drawings. The material is typically supplied in an annealed condition, and the diameter, length, dimensional tolerances, surface condition, and mechanical properties can be controlled in accordance with customer requirements.
C-103 bars are primarily used to manufacture high-temperature mechanical components for rocket engines and space propulsion systems, such as rocket nozzles, combustion chamber components, nozzle connectors, high-temperature fasteners or supports, as well as other aerospace components that require both high-temperature strength and low-temperature impact toughness.
Compared to many refractory metals, C-103 offers better machinability, making it suitable for turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and precision machining. Therefore, these bars are ideal as blanks for high-temperature components. Various diameters and lengths are available, and custom manufacturing is possible in accordance with ASTM B655, AMS 7857, customer drawings, and technical specifications.
Niobium C-103 is an important high-temperature niobium alloy used in the aerospace industry.
C-103 is suitable for high-temperature vacuum equipment, vacuum furnace components, high-temperature experimental equipment, special heating elements, and high-temperature structural components.
C-103 bars are suitable for further processing and the manufacture of: custom-made mechanical parts, parts for the aerospace industry, high-temperature connectors, shafts, and small, complex structural components.
Condition: Annealed, at least 90% recrystallization
